In 1993, Matlin Recording openend its New York studios. "I've had lots of experience with the independent filmmaking world, since working in one of the largest film labs for many years. I saw how the 'smaller' independent filmmaker took a backseat to the commercial and higher budget industry. When I decided to open my own post facility, I knew what the filmmaker needed...someone with the knowledge and commitment to see a project through to completion. That's how we set up Matlin Recording."
